Leominster’s Pine Grove Cemetery is located on Main Street at the site of the town’s first meetinghouse (it is also known as the First Meetinghouse Burial Ground). At least 108 Patriots of the American Revolution are interred there, among other notable historians, authors, and town founders. The cemetery dates back to 1742 and closed to burials in 1937, so many hand carved headstones can still be found amidst the mature vegetation.
