In this episode, host Patrice Todisco and Lexington Historical Society Director of Education and Interpretation Dan Marshall explore Munroe Tavern, a public house that was commandeered by British troops on April 19th, 1775, visited by George Washington on his presidential tour of New England, and bequeathed to the Lexington Historical Society in the early twentieth century.

Learn about the Redcoats’ occupation of the tavern, artifacts in the Society’s collection from President Washington’s sojourn, and the family who stewarded this historic building for over 140 years.
