{"id":16955,"date":"2023-03-01T13:15:35","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T13:15:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/freedomsway.org\/staging\/6553\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=16955"},"modified":"2023-03-31T15:04:01","modified_gmt":"2023-03-31T15:04:01","slug":"liberty-pole-capping-raising-reenactment-2","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/freedomsway.org\/staging\/6553\/event\/liberty-pole-capping-raising-reenactment-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Liberty Pole Capping &#038; Raising Reenactment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Liberty Pole Capping and Raising is a reenactment of a practice in Colonial America signifying dissatisfaction with varied rulings and conduct of the English government of that date.\u00a0 It is meant to be commemorative of the spirit of liberty exemplified by Bedfordians and other colonials in the early phases of the War for Independence.\u00a0 The Colonial units from the surrounding area form up on the Town Green, in front of the Unitarian Church.\u00a0 The VIP guests assemble at the Fitch Tavern. This is the place where the original Bedford Minutemen assembled on the morning of April 19th, 1775.
