We will be examining the intersections of these artists\u2019 work and the tradition of Bizen pottery through their friendships, collaborations, and varied apprenticeships.<\/p>\n<p>The panel discussion will be moderated by\u00a0<strong>Judith Schwartz<\/strong>, writer, curator and Professor Emeritus of Art History at NYU.\u00a0 This discussion will culminate with a visit to\u00a0<strong>Lucy Lacoste Gallery<\/strong>\u00a0for the concurrent\u00a0<em>Bizen Revisited<\/em>\u00a0show (on view November 5 \u2013 December 3, 2022).<\/p>\n<p>This event is part of The Umbrella\u2019s new expanded series of Fall Ceramics Studio workshops and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theumbrellaarts.org\/arts-gallery\/art-talk-series\">Artist Talks<\/a>\u00a0also featuring Director of the Harvard Ceramics Program,\u00a0<strong>Kathy King<\/strong>; 2022-2023 Umbrella Artist in Residence\u00a0<strong>Ponnapa Prakkamakul<\/strong>; and\u00a0<strong>Jessica Straus<\/strong>, juror for the upcoming gallery exhibition, \u201cLost and Found\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Umbrella Arts Center is honored to host an afternoon of Panel Discussion, Slides, and Conversation with\u00a0Isezaki Koichiro,\u00a0Jeff Shapiro\u00a0and\u00a0Tim Rowan\u00a0about their work and careers.
