This year\u2019s thematic focus is inspired by our semiquincentennial initiative, How We Remember: A Survey of Revolutionary War Monuments, Memorials and Markers within the Freedom\u2019s Way National Heritage Area<\/em><\/strong>. The series will explore the ways in which people and events of the Revolutionary War period are commemorated in various towns\u2019 landscapes while sharing fascinating stories behind how and why these commemorative objects came to be<\/p>\n

Designed as part of the Heritage Area\u2019s larger interpretive strategy to inspire life-long experiential learning, Connecting Communities: Walks & Talks provides residents and visitors opportunities to connect with local landscapes, raising awareness of and inspiring support for conservation and preservation initiatives in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

In each Connecting Communities program, Freedom\u2019s Way collaborates with community partners to offer a guided \u201cWalk & Talk\u201d to the public, free of charge. Programs share the stories of individuals whose work impacted the Heritage Area, and America, while exploring neighborhoods, conservation areas and historic properties. This unique opportunity provides our community partners with increased exposure to new audiences and potential supporters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
