DESCRIPTION:Local “Modern Pioneer” Lauren Roy will empower\, and educate the audience on living more naturally and in the art of foraging as a way of saving money. More importantly\, they will learn that they are capable of providing for their own and their family’s most basic need: food. No matter what is going on in the world. Signed copies of her book Modern Pioneer – An Almanac of Natural Living will be available for purchase. \nThe program is preceded by a museum-hosted reception on May 23\, at 6:30 pm. \nREGISTRATION REQUIRED: Please reserve your seat(s) at info@gardnermuseuminc.com. \nPARKING & ACCESS: The museum features a small parking lot with handicap parking adjacent to the museum building. Ample free public parking is located on Pearl Street (directly in front of the museum building)\, James Street\, and Green Street. Additionally\, a public parking lot is located nearby at the corner of Central and Elm Streets (accessible from Central Street and from Elm Street). The museum building is wheelchair accessible. \n  \nThis program is offered by The Gardner Museum as part of the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature\, Culture & History\, an annual month-long celebration showcasing events and activities hosted by local partners celebrating the unique places\, objects\, and stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. DESCRIPTION:Join Athol Bird & Nature Club president and Millers River Environmental Center director Dave Small as he explores the transformation of his yard from a boring suburban lot dominated by lawn to a rich habitat for our native wildlife. Removing invasive species\, planting native plants\, and providing water\, food\, and cover for a variety of wildlife and people. The result is a space that has become a wonderful place to hang out\, enjoying a wide variety of wildlife. \nThe program is preceded by a museum-hosted reception beginning at 6:30 pm. DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, April 27\, History At Play™\, LLC is proud to present “Rendezvous with Rachel Revere”!\n\nIt is May 2\, 1775\, and Rachel Revere has only heard from her beloved husband Paul once since his legendary midnight ride. Isolated from one another due to the Siege of Boston\, Rachel tries to create a plan\, which shall safely take her children: six step-children from Paul’s first marriage and a newborn baby of their own\, from the reach of the Regular British Army. Find out if Rachel is successful amidst the wake of an American Revolution.\n\nThis Immersive Living History Experience was commissioned by the Paul Revere Memorial Association\, is sponsored by Gardner Cultural Council and The Gardner Museum \, and is presented by History At Play™\, LLC. Founded in 2010 by J. Kalaora\, History At Play™\, LLC chronicles the lives of influential and often forgotten figures. Kalaora is a professional actor\, award-winning playwright\, and educator. Kalaora holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and graduated from the Globe Education Program at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre of London.\n\nAfter the program\, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and for more information on where to see History At Play\, LLC portray other influential figures\, follow them on their Socials\, using the handle “History At Play.”\n\nThis is a FREE event\, but registration is requested.
