SUMMARY:HOME
DESCRIPTION:October 28- November 19\, 2023 11am-5pm Tue-Sun \n \nOpening Reception: Thursday\, November 2\, 5pm-7pm \nHousing Round Table: November 9\, 5pm-7pm \nLexHAB ‘HOME’ Fundraiser: November 16\, 5pm-7pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nLexHAB\, an affordable housing organization\, and LexArt\, announce an exciting new collaboration that links both missions: an art exhibition\, titled ‘HOME’\, from October 28 through November 19\, 2023 at the Nye Gallery in Lexington\, MA. The show’s submission period is now open to artists in New England working in all media. \nHOME will focus on the theme of ‘home’ and the role of housing in our lives. Whether it is a physical place or an idea\, ‘home’ can mean something different at each stage of life and varies by culture and geography. Housing as shelter is a universal human need that is inaccessible for too many\, locally and globally. \nA shelter is a need\, a house can be a haven\, a nest can be empty\, a home can be inhabitable: climate change\, income inequality\, racism\, violence\, love\, community\, and family are just a few of the factors that impact our concept of home and our ability to attain and maintain a home. We invite you to reflect on this theme and to submit a work of art that shares your perspective on the notion of ‘home’. \n \nCALL FOR ART \n \nSubmission registration and fee click here \n \nFor more information about LexHAB click here \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nJuror: Sarah Morrison\, award-winning artist whose work includes painting\, printmaking and collage. SUMMARY:The Collaged Landscape Jill Pottle: Painting Demo
DESCRIPTION:Time & Location\n\n\nSep 17\, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM \nLexington\, 130 Waltham St\, Lexington\, MA 02421\, USA \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Class or Event\n\n\nJoin us September 17 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for a demo with Jill Pottle \n  \nCollage is an accessible art form for all levels. But for me it is an extension of my fine arts where I use all the tools of drawing and painting to creating space\, value\, volume in the principles of creating a landscape. I use magazines\, papers\, that I have created and fabrics to create a beautiful landscape. Then I use paints and oil pastel to integrate the material to get the best link between collage and drawing. The immediacy of using a variety of material can be a lot of fun for non artists as well as artists. \n  \nJill M. Pottle is an accomplished artist from Worcester County who exhibits her paintings and drawings locally and nationally. She graduated from Syracuse University with her BFA and received her MFA from the Boston Museum School. Her work is featured in many collections including Danforth Art Museum\, and she has shown in many galleries including The Three Stones Gallery in West Concord\, and the East End Gallery in Provincetown. She is currently a member of the Fountain Street Gallery in Boston and the Trumpet Gallery of Fine Arts in Peterborough\, New Hampshire. Jill has taught art for 38 years. \n  \nThis demo is free to the public and we ask you to please register for the event.
