SUMMARY:Colors of the Rainbow! Summer Solstice Walk & Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and family-friendly walk at Doyle Conservation Area in Leominster as we seek all the colors of the rainbow found in nature! Learn about the many sights and sounds of nature on the first day of summer with Anna Wilkins\, NCLT Executive Director. If you visit the Leominster Public Library to build your own rainbow wand\, be sure to bring it with you and let it flow in the wind on your walk! \nChildren ages 3-13\, their caregivers\, and anyone else interested\, are invited to participate on Thursday\, June 20th at 7pm. Celebrate the Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year!). We will meet (in the parking lot) at the Doyle Conservation Area (located at 464 Abbott Avenue Leominster\, MA) (PLEASE NOTE: This is not at Doyle Field). \nRegistration is required and begins 6/13 at 9 AM. DESCRIPTION:North County Land Trust’s annual Winter Solstice Lantern Walk is back for another year and is set to be brighter than ever! \nEnjoy a glowing\, ethereal stroll through winding\, wooded trails with family and friends over cups of hot cocoa. Embrace the longest night of the year with a warm bonfire along the path and take in solstice legends of years past. This tranquil\, dreamlike evening is the perfect way to celebrate the holidays with the ones you love. \nAttendance is free\, warm drinks and goodies will be for sale. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join North County Land Trust for a family friendly WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION on December 21\, 2022\, 5:30-7:00pm at the Doyle Community Center in Leominster. \nTogether we will celebrate\, on this longest night of the year\, the return of the sun as the days become longer and lighter again.  The event will include a short hike on the lantern lined trails\, the lighting of your own handmade solstice lanterns\, and reflecting on our goals for the year ahead. \nWe ask that attendees bring their own lanterns to light. These can be paper bag\, mason jar\, or cut paper lanterns\, and candles to light them. Any lantern design is fine with us\, the goal is to celebrate the light! We will also have a few materials on hand to make some for those unable to make a lantern ahead of time. Some tutorials are below or use your creativity to make whatever lantern you like.  We recommend bringing battery operated tea lights but regular tea lights are fine\, too\, at your own comfort. \nPlease park in the designated Doyle Center parking area and gather at the patio area near the facilities.
