Westford’s Westlawn Cemetery

Concord Road, Westford, MA

The West Burying Ground, also known as the Westlawn Cemetery, was officially turned over to the town in 1761, but many of Westford’s founding citizens had already been interred there. In the years that followed, most of the deceased were congregants of Westford’s First Parish Church. At least 11 Revolutionary War Patriots are buried there, including Colonel John Robinson. A large slate marker honors Robinson, who led three companies of Westford Minutemen to the Battle of Concord on April 19, 1775 and later served at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

The other known Patriots interred at Westlawn include:

Nathaniel Boynton • Isaac Preston Durant/Durand • Timothy Fletcher • Elijah Hildreth • Zachariah Hildreth Sr • Eleazer Lawrence • David Prescott • Oliver Prescott • Timothy Prescott • John Robinson • Stephen Wright

This list was compiled from the SAR Patriot Research System. While our own research has identified discrepancies between various resources, we welcome your feedback should you notice something that should be revised.
