Set in 8 acres of quiet woodlands and lovely gardens in Harvard, Massachusetts, The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center features a thoughtfully created environment that provides a variety of sensory experiences, and natural flora and fauna. The Center provides complementary therapies to support cancer patients during treatment while the surrounding gardens provide an opportunity to discover the healing impact of nature.
The Center honors the memory of Ginny Thurston, who with her husband Bill owned the property on which she cultivated a series of spectacular gardens. Finding solace in the landscape during her treatment for breast cancer, her husband established the Center in her name on the property upon her passing.
On site, both outdoor and indoor activity-based groups are held for Healing Garden clients, their families, and the public. Personalized programs for individuals can be arranged—the interests and abilities of anyone who wants to participate can be accommodated.
