The six-acre Meadow Mist Farm has a long history as agricultural land. It is built on the grounds of the former Meek Dairy Farm. In 1987, John Moriarty purchased the property, and with the help of an old Ford tractor, planted an acre and a half of sweet corn. Moriarty gradually renovated the farm buildings and added gardens and berry patches. In 1995, he was joined by his spouse, Lauren Yaffee.
Today, the farm offers over 100 seasonal products, including grass-fed beef, lamb, pastured chicken, cage-free fresh eggs, seasonal garden vegetables, and berries. Their farm store also retails specialty foods from fruit preserves and pasta sauce to herbs and organic bulk goods. Meadow Mist focuses on using sustainable, chemical-free practices.
Visitors can come to the farm for pick your own fruits and vegetables or for a variety of volunteer opportunities. The farm also hosts a four-season CSA, which offers eggs from their laying hens.
