Though it’s located on only 2.8 acres, Littleton Community Farm packs a lot of potential into one small space. This nonprofit organization aims to reduce local food insecurity and create a space for education and community. The farm distributes its organic, no-till food through local organizations like food banks and senior centers, but they also offer pick your own flowers, a CSA, and a farmers market at their location on Wilderness Road.
The story of Littleton Community Farm started in the summer of 2012 when Amy Tarlow-Lewis began organizing a group of community members who were interested in protecting Littleton farmland from development. By that fall, the Littleton Community Farm was incorporated. In 2014, the farm was approved as a nonprofit, and it began leasing land from the New England Forestry Foundation. Since then, the Community Farm has been expanding its network and offerings to improve access to food for residents of the surrounding area.
