Whether guests come to pick their own fruit or get lost in the corn maze, Lavoie’s Farm on idyllic Nartoff Road in Hollis, New Hampshire is a destination run by families, for families. The farm produces a range of fruits and vegetables, including apples, berries, pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers, corn, squash, and beans.
The farm began when the Lavoie family moved from Quebec to Nartoff Road. The family originally experimented with vegetables and chickens to supplement their own meals, but when the third generation of Lavoies took over the farm, the focus shifted to growing vegetables on a large scale. At the height of the operation in the 1970s, the Lavoies farmed more than 300 acres. The farm has since been reduced to about 100 acres.
Fourth-generation farmer Adrien Lavoie now leads the family business with the help of his parents, John and Ruth Lavoie, and his wife, Nadine. They sell produce from a small stand attached to the original turn-of-the-century farmhouse on Nartoff Road. A second farmstand is located in the fields of the historic Woodmont Orchard on Silver Lake Road.
Lavoies produce is also available at local farmstands in Nashua, New Hampshire.
