One of 11 “witness” houses in Minute Man National Historical Park, the Whittemore House was built between 1716 and 1718 by Jacob Whittemore’s father, Nathaniel. It was the home of Jacob and Elizabeth Whittemore, Jacob’s daughter Sarah and her husband Moses Reed and their three children, the oldest of which was 4 on April 19, 1775. The Whittemore family lived here until 1780.
