A Christmas tradition for many families near Shirley, Massachusetts is a visit to Harrod Tree Farm, which opens seasonally each year on the day after Thanksgiving. Karyn and Greg Harrod started their family-run business on the site of the former Pacing Pines Farm in 1996.
Today, they sell a variety of cut-your-own Balsam, Canaan Fir, Fraser Fir, and Korean Fir trees ranging from 5 to 16 feet in height. They also offer pre-cut trees from their farm in Vermont. Additionally, the farm sells wreaths and kissing balls.
Guests can cut their own trees throughout the Christmas season, or visit the “Mistletoe Market”, which sells gifts from local crafters. They often offer seasonal treats like hot cider and cocoa.
