Groton Public Library has an art scene of its very own. In addition to the Owen Smith Shuman Art Gallery, which exhibits contemporary work from local residents, the library houses custom ironwork, wall sculptures, and a variety of paintings. Chief among those are the works of Boston school painter Edmund C. Tarbell, which are on long-term loan to the library and viewable during regular hours.
