Barrett’s Mill Farm sells certified organic vegetables through its farmstand on Barrett’s Mill Road in Concord, Massachusetts. The 15-acre farm is located on the historic McGrath Farmstead on the Assabet River, just across from Minute Man National Historical Park‘s Colonel James Barrett Farm.
The land is currently owned by the town of Concord, but evidence suggests it has been farmed for centuries. The McGrath family began farming the property in 1905. In addition to a farmstand, the property includes a barn, greenhouse, and a two-family residence.
Barrett’s Mill uses regenerative farming practices to ensure the farm remains healthy and productive for the next generation. Part of this process includes diverse plantings — Barrett’s Mill grows approximately 50 crops in almost 200 different varieties.
Since 2014, the historic farm has been run by Concord native Lise Holdorf and longtime New England farmer Melissa Maxwell. In addition to farmstand fruits and vegetables, the farm offers pick your own flowers and a CSA program.
