Walden Woods Project

44 Baker Farm Road, Lincoln, MA

Founded in 1990 by recording artist Don Henley, the Walden Woods Project preserves the land, literature, and legacy of Henry David Thoreau to foster an ethic of environmental stewardship and social responsibility both cornerstones of Thoreau’s philosophy.

Integrating conservation, education, research and advocacy, The Project provides innovative programs, maintains the collections housed in its archives and library at The Thoreau Institute, and advocates for the preservation of historic Walden Woods and Thoreau County in Concord and Lincoln, Massachusetts, and the broader global environment.
