Founded by landscape architect Charles Eliot in 1891, The Trustees’ mission is protecting places of ecological, scenic, and historic importance in Massachusetts.
They steward more than 100 places containing nearly 27,000 acres in Massachusetts that include, museums, historic houses and gardens, woodlands and parks, farms and community gardens, inns and campgrounds and coastal properties. Each year, more than 2 million people visit their reservations and more than 250,000 people participate in more than 5,000 programs and events.
