Nashua River Watershed Association

592 Main Street, Groton, MA

The Nashua River Watershed Association was founded in 1969 on the belief that every individual has the power to make a difference. That belief led to the clean-up of one of the nation’s most polluted rivers, an internationally recognized success story.

Serving as a regional leader in natural resource protection and environmental education for 32 watershed communities in north central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, the organization’s goals include to restore and protect water quality and quantity for people, fish, and wildlife, to conserve open space and wildlife habitat, farms, forests, and recreation and to encourage careful land use with well-planned development.

NRWA’s mission is to work for a healthy ecosystem with clean water and open spaces for human and wildlife communities, where people work together to sustain mutual economic and environmental well-being in the Nashua River watershed.
