The Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT) announced the recipients of the FY25 Massachusetts 250 Grant Program on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. This program, awarding a total of $1.5 million, aims to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in a vibrant and engaging way.
Awarded projects highlight the themes of revolution and independence, celebrate significant historical “firsts” in Massachusetts, or utilize creative approaches to showcase the state’s rich 250-year history.
As one of 37 grants awarded, the funding supports the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area’s ongoing work to share the stories of the region through the initiative, How We Remember: Revolutionary War Monuments, Memorials and Markers in the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area, specifically the creation of an insert to be included in Discover Concord Magazine of fifteen monuments, markers and memorials conceived as ‘A Monumental Road Trip – Discovering the Past through Monuments and Memorials.’
The project is one of our Freedom’s Way 250 suite of initiatives and will formally launch during our annual Community Gathering on November 17th, 2024 at the Concord Museum.
