Writing in Color

05.4.25 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

Explore the symbolism of colors used in icons and the importance for iconographers of getting the tone and color exactly right. Experiment with creating colors and tones using a paint similar to what is used by iconographers using gum arabic and pigments; participants will be encouraged to make different tones and create a monochromatic painting that conveys an emotion. Students can look for inspiration with examples in our galleries.

The program is multi-tiered to meet the needs of various age groups and provides valuable educational benefits within a fun and interactive format. Join us for family bonding and shared experiences that encourages creativity and foster art appreciation!
