GREAT MEADOWS NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, CONCORD, MA
Step back in time for an engaging conversation with two influential Revolution writers: John Adams and Mercy Otis Warren! Through first-person narratives and primary source documents, they will share the ups and downs of their friendship, which experienced a significant rift after Warren’s 1805 publication of the first history of the American Revolution. Adams was unhappy with his portrayal and confronted Warren, leading to a heated exchange of letters. After years of tension, they reconciled in 1812.
Join us for a lively debate featuring Michele Gabrielson as Mercy Otis Warren and Michael LePage as John Adams, discussing Warren’s landmark three-volume history.
Michele Gabrielson is a professional historian with 17 years of experience teaching early American History, while Michael LePage has been bringing historical characters to life since 1992, including Paul Revere and John Adams.
