Since 2016, artist and inventor Paul Matisse’s interactive sculpture, the Olympic Bell, originally created for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, has been installed at Old Frog Pond Farm & Studio in Harvard, Massachusetts. Old Frog Pond Farm invites the public to come and meet Matisse and hear him talk about the bell. Visitors will learn about the bell’s fabrication and history, can ask questions, and then ring the bell themselves. Come meet the artist and learn about this ‘treasure’ hidden among tall white pines,, and listen as the bell’s deep note rings and reverberates.
This program is offered by Old Frog Pond Farm & Studio as part of the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History, an annual month-long celebration showcasing events and activities hosted by local partners celebrating the unique places, objects, and stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. Hidden Treasures programs are free and open to the public. Click to discover more Hidden Treasures!
