With the recent completion of restoration work, Sandy Pond Schoolhouse is ready for visitors. New features include painstakingly hand restored windows, an accessible washroom with hot and cold running water, an accessible entrance, and more. Come see the newly restored schoolhouse and learn about its role in Ayer history. It’s free and a great family event. Come visit Ayer’s historic single room school.

Things to see and do:

• Tour the restored schoolhouse
• Coloring activities for children (of all ages)
• Take a sample 19th century high school admission test
• Learn about Spencerian Script (19th century handwriting)
• Learn more about 19th century single room school days and teaching techniques
