Patriots’ Day Spirit at the Faulkner Homestead

04.14.24 @ 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Travel back in time from 1 to 3:30 p.m. to learn why we celebrate Patriots’ Day in Acton as the start of both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.  What better place to do it than at the home of Col. Francis Faulkner, Middlesex Regiment commander in 1775, and Col. Winthrop E. Faulkner, Acton’s leader on the home front during the Civil War?  Come talk to groups of re-enactors from both time periods, and witness a skirmish or two in the Faulkner woods!  Members of the Nashoba Valley Weavers’ Guild will also be on hand to demonstrate colonial weaving on the old “barn frame” loom.

Come back at 5:00 to see the arrival of the Acton Minutemen and the alarm rider bringing the news of the British marching on Concord on April 19, 1775.

Patriots’ Day Spirit is open to the public for a modest donation—“Give What You Will.”  Parking is available on nearby public lots.
