Patriots’ Day Candlelight Tribute at Fairview Cemetery

In this unique self-guided stroll, you can access the service records of Westford’s Revolutionary War Patriots on your phone or tablet. There will be interpreters to answer your questions stationed throughout the beautifully illuminated cemetery.

One of the most distinguished citizens buried here is Capt. Joseph Reed. Capt. Read became a prominent man in Westford, MA which he represented for 20 years in the General Court. He took part in the famous Boston Tea Party, an act of protest regarded by many as the spark that ignited the American Revolution. Captain Joseph Read also served the town of Westford as delegate to go to the provincial Congress. He was just one of the men of great distinction buried in Fairview cemetery.
