An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Tuesday and Friday, repeating until May 31, 2022
Visit the Fort Devens Museum for the opening of its Painted WWI Helmets Exhibit featuring three dozen helmets and other WWI artifacts and memorabilia. Primarily comprised of helmets on loan from a private collector, most of which were painted by soldiers following their service in the war, the exhibit also includes helmets with local ties from the museum’s collection. Docents will be available to answer questions.
This exhibit may also be viewed as a self-guided activity during the museum’s normal hours after May 21st—Tuesdays and Fridays 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
This program is offered by the Fort Devens Museum as part of the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History, an annual month-long celebration showcasing events and activities hosted by local partners celebrating the unique places, objects, and stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area.
