LexSeeHer presents its 2024 Women’s History Month Speaker Series!

March 6th | 7:00-8:00 PM | Cary Library’s Large Meeting Room: Celebrate Interionational Women’s Day with LexSeeHer and author Leta Hong Fincher. We will be discussing the 10th anniversary edition of Leta’s widely acclaimed book, Leftover Women – The Resurgence of Gender Inequality in China. This talk will be moderated by Melanie Lin, President of the Chinese American Association of Lexington, and Jessie Steigerwald, President of LexSeeHer.

March 21st | 7:00-8:00 PM | via Zoom only: Civics in Action: Margaret Coppe will share a history of the League of Women Voters of Lexington, giving context for the work of monument honorees Ruth Morey and Marge Battin, and will speak about her civic engagement! Click here to register.

March 27th | 7:00-8:00 PM | Cary Library’s Large Meeting Room: Celebrate Women’s History Month with author, historian, and former Lexington High School teacher Mary Keenan. We will discuss Mary’s newest book: Petitions—A Patriot Legacy. Learn about women in the LexSeeHer monument who fought for an end to slavery and woman suffrage using the power of petitions.
