Historical Piano Concerts’ 38th Spring season presents performances every Sunday in May. The six concerts pay homage to the pianist-composers associated with the Collection’s historical original pianos. In May, two recitals devoted to Schubert’s late compositions focus special attention on this beloved composer. You’ll find detailed information on all events and the instruments at FrederickCollection.org.
On Sunday, May 12th, pianist Gail Olszewski plays Johannes Brahms on a piano by J.B. Streicher & Sohn, Vienna (1868), from The Frederick Collection, accompanied by Jessica Gould, soprano.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED: To reserve your free concert tickets during the month of May, please call 978-827-6232 or email pianofred@juno.com with the number of adult tickets you’d like—remember to reference Hidden Treasures! Concerts are always free of charge to students and children.
Tours of the Frederick Historical Piano Collection, on which the concerts are based, are available by appointment, on non-concert days. The collection focuses on the kinds of pianos owned and played in concert by the great composers, letting modern musicians and listeners hear the music in its exciting true colors. Call 978-827-6232 or email pianofred@juno.com to book a tour; there is no set fee for guided tours of the Piano Collection.
