Join local bird expert Michael Veit for a stroll through the Heald Street Orchard to view the annual migration of birds who visit the property each Spring. Birds will be identified by Michael, and others in attendance, using flight patterns, calls, and visual observations. The property is known for the large number of warblers who migrate through the Orchard each year. Don’t forget your binoculars. Event is free and open to the public. No pre-registration required.

TIME: 6:30 – 10:00 AM: Stay as long as you would like but typical stop time is 10:00 – 10:30 AM.
LOCATION: Heald Street Orchard, 88 Heald Street, Pepperell, MA
PARKING: Parking at East Gate. The event begins in a parking lot with light refreshments.
ACCESSIBILITY: While the parking lot does allow for people with mobility limitations, the trails are not paved and there may be other limitations due to a wetland crossing and some sections of the trails may have slopes.
This program is offered by the Pepperell Conservation Commission and Nashoba Conservation Trust as part of the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History, an annual month-long celebration showcasing events and activities hosted by local partners celebrating the unique places, objects, and stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area.
