Boxborough 1857 School House #2
05.17.26 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
The current one room wood School House #2 was constructed in 1857 and today is largely unchanged from when it was built. In 1949, the town sold the existing 4 one-room schoolhouses at auction to the general public. School House #2 was bought by the Robinson family with the intention of preserving it for educational and historical purposes and restoring it as a “living museum” of past education. Over a period of years it has been furnished with antique desks from different time periods so classes could be “taught” to children as part of an “old time school” experience. Schoolhouse #2 is now owned and maintained by the third generation of the Robinson family.
