We are pleased to invite you to attend our city’s fifth annual Juneteenth Freedom Celebration at Lincoln Commons from 11am-3pm on Sunday, June 19th!

This event is organized by MaldenCORE, with funding from the City of Malden, Mystic Valley Branch of the NAACP, and the Malden Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Program:
11:00am Juneteenth Flag Raising ceremony, singing by Lydia Harrell
11:20am Program including yoga with Shanel Anderson, poetry by Terry Carter, drumming by Cornell Coley, a keynote by Bwann Gwann, dance by MHS student Roxane Leon, and step by Malden High’s AO Step Team! Kids are invited to attend and join in arts and crafts activities at the Malden Reads and Malden Girl Scouts tents!
12:30pm Browse product vendors and community collaborator tables; enjoy the drum circle, bouncy house, henna, cornhole, other lawn games, music by DJ Tyrone Henry
1:00pm Free community lunch sourced from local businesses including Crown Fried Chicken, The Island, Soulful Cuisine, and Fresh Food Generation
