Fiske Hill, named after the Fiske family who resided in the area from 1647 to 1847, lies on the eastern boundary of Minute Man National Historical Park, just west of I-95 in Lexington, Massachusetts. The Ebenezer Fiske House foundation and cellar hole is located here. On April 19, 1775, British troops passed through this area on their way to Concord and again on their return to Boston. During the return trip, Acton minuteman James Hayward and a British soldier killed each other near the site of the well on the Fiske property. In 1885, a stone tablet known as the Hayward Well Monument, was installed by the Lexington Historical Society to memorialize the event.
