Located a mile and a half north of Otter River State Forest, Lake Dennison Recreation Area offers swimming, fishing, a boat ramp for canoes and other non-gas-powered boats, and wooded camping on the shores of an 85-acre lake. Fifty miles of mountain biking trails in the adjacent Birch Hill Wildlife Management Area may be accessed from here.
Lake Dennison is a section of the Army Corps of Engineers Birch Hill Flood Control Project. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, via Otter River State Forest staff, manages 4,221 acres of Army Corps land for recreational use.
