Voices and Votes: Democracy in America
Ashby Free Public Library | July 26 – September 6, 2025

This summer, the Ashby Free Public Library proudly hosts Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, a traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibition brought to you by Museums on Main Street and Mass Humanities. Explore the origins and evolution of American democracy through engaging displays that connect our national story to local history.

In addition to the main exhibition, visitors will discover a unique micro-exhibit spotlighting the people, places, and pivotal moments that shaped civic life in Ashby and the surrounding region. The six-week celebration will also feature visiting authors, a community photography showcase, a screening of Majority Rules followed by a public discussion, a lively music festival, and more.

Join us for this exciting series of programs as we reflect on the past, examine the present, and imagine the future of democracy, right here in Ashby.

The Library is open Tuesday and Wednesday 10-5, Thursday 1-8 and Saturday 10-2. We will be open in the evenings on Wednesdays and special hours for programs. Check out website ashbylibrary.org for more details. or subscribe to asbhylibrary.substack.com
