Greenville

Once called Mason Village, Greenville is one of New Hampshire’s newest and smallest towns. Incorporated in 1872, it is located at the High Falls on the Souhegan River, whose plentiful water power provided the mill town with the state’s earliest industries. Greenville has long been a manufacturing center of cotton and woolen goods.

In 1826, the Columbian Manufacturing Company was established to make textiles in Mason Village and neighboring New Ipswich. The company no longer operates in Greenville, however, its fine brick buildings still dominate the village and Queen Anne style houses can be found on its side streets.
