Water Science at Stillwater Farm Interpretive Site

05.25.24 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Explore the wonders of water through fun interactive activity stations! Journey through the water cycle and collect beads to create your own unique bracelet. Discover a healthy freshwater stream through an accessible touch tank designed to allow observers to see freshwater macroinvertebrates move in a simulated river environment. Participants use tools such as petri dishes and plastic spoons to handle the macroinvertebrates. They can observe and identify the insects while discovering how they indicate water quality and support a healthy freshwater ecosystem.

Drop in Saturday, May 25th between 10 AM and 1 PM. All ages are welcome to this family-friendly event. Dogs are not allowed.

This program is offered by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Division of Water Supply Protection as part of the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History, an annual month-long celebration showcasing events and activities hosted by local partners celebrating the unique places, objects, and stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area.
