Tucked into the corner of Main and Park streets in Pepperell, Massachusetts, the Walton Cemetery was the town’s first burial ground. The cemetery was established in 1746 with the earliest headstones dating back to 1750. It has since been expanded into the Pepperell Cemetery.

One of the most famous among them is Prudence Cummings Wright, who led the capture of a British informant at Jewett’s Bridge. At least one other Patriot is buried at the Pepperell Woodlawn Cemetery.
