The Pepperell Historical Commission conducted a comprehensive survey of historic buildings in an effort to create a clearer view of the town’s historical resources and where they are located. An internal survey, conducted in 2019, indicated that at least 845 structures in town are believed to have been built prior to 1940. However, only 342 were listed in the Massachusetts Historical Commission’s MACRIS database. Surveying the remaining buildings will help improve knowledge of the town’s history and determine whether any Pepperell buildings are eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
