Owned and operated by Renee and Wendy Juchnevics-Freeman, Sleepy Brook Farm is one of southern New Hampshire’s go-to purveyors of direct-to-consumer meats. The farm started over a decade ago when the Juchnevics-Freeman’s niece won the Cheshire Fair pig scramble and gifted them her prize pig.

The Juchnevics-Freemans moved to their 32-acre New Ipswich farm in 2002. They built a barn and began collecting livestock and pets. The wooded setting allowed their pigs the ability to forage and root, which means they are raised without hormones, antibiotics, or GMOs.

In addition to cuts of pork (including ham, bacon, and sausage), Sleepy Brook Farm offers Thanksgiving turkeys, chicken cuts, and whole chickens in summer. Guests can sign up for a 1, 2, or 4 person meat CSA to sample the full variety of the farm’s offerings. Sleepy Brook Farm also frequents local farmers’ markets, where they often sell eggs and produce in addition to meat.
