Groton’s Autumn Hills Orchard covers 84 acres off of Chicopee Row. It has been a working orchard for over 80 years. From its lovely vantage point atop a drumlin, views stretch into Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, with Wachusett Mountain, Mount Monadnock, Mount Watatic, Temple Mountain, Crotched Mountain, and the Nissitissit Hills visible in the distance.
For 25 years, the orchards were run by Ann and Lyn Harris. In 2021, Groton locals Ed and Kim Herdiech purchased the orchard. They offer 30 varieties of apples, peaches, pears, plums, and grapes. Pick your own fruits are central to the business, allowing visitors to enjoy the views and get up close and personal with semi-dwarf fruit trees dating back 40 years.
The new retail space at the orchard offers a fruit CSA, specialty food items, and the latest seasonal offerings from the farm.
