Clark Farm’s iconic farm fields, just a stone’s throw away from downtown Carlisle, Massachusetts, have become a local landmark. These fields raise organic vegetables and berries for Clark Farm farm stand, CSA, and farm-to-table restaurant. Clark Farm also raises lamb, goats, pork, and laying hens.
The fields on Concord Street have been in agricultural production since the early 1700s. The Clark family purchased the farm in 1899 and passed it down to their son, Guy, a Carlisle town moderator, assessor, and firefighter. Guy ran the dairy alongside his wife Dorothy “Dot” Clark through the mid-1980s.
In 2003, Dot joined forces with Grant and Helene Wilson to create a conservation restriction to protect 64 acres of Clark Farm in perpetuity. The gift included a trail through the property.
Upon Dot’s passing in 2010, the farm was purchased by Marjie Findlay and Geoff Freeman, who run the operation with farmer Andrew Rodgers. Marjie and Geoff established the Clark Farm Market on Bedford Road. The delightful post and beam barn not only brings Clark Farm produce, meat, and eggs, to the public, it offers a pick-your-own garden where guests can source berries, vegetables, flowers, and herbs. The market also has an outdoor cafe serving coffee and pastries with a scenic agricultural backdrop.
