Walks & Talks

A collaboration with community partners and knowledgeable local guides, Connecting Communities: Walks & Talks, provides an opportunity to discover the multi-faceted stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area through a thematic lens while exploring the region’s landscape.

This year’s thematic focus is inspired by our semiquincentennial initiative, How We Remember: A Survey of Revolutionary War Monuments, Memorials and Markers within the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. The series will explore the ways in which people and events of the Revolutionary War period are commemorated in various towns’ landscapes while sharing fascinating stories behind how and why these commemorative objects came to be
